The 16th Street Baptist Church was bombed by the Ku Klux Klan on September 15 1963. Four young girls, Denise McNair, Cynthia Wesley, Carole Robertson, and Addie Mae Collins, were killed in the bombing. We will never forget these four young ladies that had their lives tragically taken from them because their skin was black. Jazz legend John Coltrane recorded “Alabama” in remembrance of those killed during this tragedy. Listen to the song “Alabama” below.
