Movies become classic for many different reasons; the story line, the actors/actresses and the particular time period of the release of the movie all factor into movies becoming classics. One of the other reasons that movies become if not classic, memorable is the musical soundtrack that goes with the movie. The scores for films have many times taken a movie to another level and created an aura that cements the film to the memories of the viewers. Instrumental soundtracks and vocal soundtracks both have captured the ears of audiences in the same ways that actors and actresses steal the hearts of those same audiences. Lyrics, strings, horns, drums and pianos create melodies that are forever tied to not only specific movies, but our minds and hearts. Recent years have seen the decline of readily available soundtracks created with newly produced movies; in many instances songs already created are reused in certain movies, thus taking away from the authenticity of the music/movie relationship. Legendary artists have added to their already amazing catalog of music while new artists have emerged as superstars from their releases on soundtracks. ESHE Magazine has compiled a collection of ten memorable film scores that should be in everybody’s musical collection.
