December 4, 1969

By David Jordan Jr

December 4, 1969 is a day in American History that once again proved how ugly and how evil the United States government and the FBI has been in it’s treatment of black people in the United States Of America. Fred Hampton, the chairman of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party, and the deputy chairman of the national Black Panther Party was assassinated while sleeping in his home by the Chicago Police during a home raid. Hampton’s murder once again proved that the government of the United States Of America and the then Director of the FBI J. Edgar Hoover, did everything in their human power to discredit, destroy and even murder any credible black man that was aiming to create a society in which black citizens of the United States were treated equally as white citizens.fredhampton55b51b0d36b00 Hampton, like MLK, Malcolm X and Medgar Evers before him, was viciously gunned down in hope to kill the hopes and ambitions of the Black Revolution taking place in America at that time. The murder of 21 year old Fred Hampton was something that happened 46 years ago, yet his words and ideals about self empowerment, education and the importance of freedom for the people ring stronger than ever today.
