It is time to officially announce hunting season on African American males. For over five hundred years there has been an unofficial pastime for men of the world. That pastime started in the continent known as Africa but has been pursued in all countries. In Milwaukee the Rodolfo Gomez Jr. verdict overruling video proof moves the USA one step closer to legalizing the sport.
Images don’t lie or do they. A jury in the Gomez Jr. case obviously thought otherwise. The jury decided that the images and video showing Gomez manhandling Deron Love was a lie. In the video Love was handcuffed and unresisting while Gomez went to work on him.
Gomez claimed he was in fear for his safety and reacted appropriately. The jury bought this even though Love was handcuffed to a wall.
Love had a history of interactions with police and this was brought up at the trial. But what does the past have to do with what the video told? It is unusual for a suspect to be handcuffed to a wall in any arrest. How much bodily damage could Love do to Gomez in such a position? It was argued that Love tried to provoke a response from Gomez. Even if this is true Gomez is supposed to be trained to deal with such instances. Gomez wasn’t a fresh rookie cop but a detective with time on the force.
The video should have been a decisive tool for the prosecution.
It wasn’t. The defense used football terminology to confound the jurors. The defense masterfully chose certain images and slowed down the footage. This created an illusion that what Gomez was doing was all in a days work. The slowed down images showed Gomez really missed with a kick or changed a closed fist into an open hand. This made jurors ignore the fact that Gomez shouldn’t have been doing the acts. The illusion created would have made David Copperfield weep with envy.
African American males have to get ready. The dismissed cases of blatant abuse towards African American men by police are a warning. African American males should also notice the hunters are no longer Caucasian males. Gomez was Latino. Another alarming trend is the fact that African American males hunt themselves. Some of the violence perpetrated on African American males by police came from black hands. Many will scream African American males abuse each other daily. This is true. But this is not about a criminal element doing the deed. This is about people in authority abusing African American men. The same people who are supposed to keep them safe.
If there are any rallies scheduled hopefully someone will address the real issue. African American males are in a constant state of subliminal terrorization. For African American males to make any progress in society they have to be told the truth. No matter how much money or status you have in the world today you are still a Negro. A rich African American male is only one police interaction on a dark night from the graveyard.
This scenario may seem bleak but it is actually liberating. To know the name and rules of the game you’re playing is key to winning. It’s time for the charade of acceptance that has lulled the African American male into destruction to end. Does this make the USA or the world a bad place? No. It is seeing things for what they are. President Barack Obama can assist the African American male by officially announcing the new sport. Obama if you do this you will save the lives and minds for generations of all races.
