Fred’s love for music began in his childhood in Riverside, Delaware, where he grew up surrounded by hardship but found purpose in music through the church. He quickly rose through the ranks of the R&B world, opening for legends like 112, Mary J. Blige, Run DMC, and Gerald LeVert, and collaborating with renowned producer Scott Storch. “Music captivated me when I was young, it saved me,” Fred shares. “I used to think being different was a bad thing. But now, I know that’s what sets me apart.”
With a growing catalog of heartfelt tracks like “I Want You Back” and “Tug of War,” Fred continues to resonate with audiences around the world, offering a refreshing take on classic R&B with a modern twist. Beyond the stage, Fred is the founder of Reeds Refuge Center, a nonprofit in Wilmington, Delaware, dedicated to academic enrichment, community support, and protecting youth from violence and addiction. His work in the community is as impactful as his music. “The one thing I always tell young people is to be original. They already have a Meek Mill and a Beyoncé; you’ve got to be your own voice.”
