Today Vince Carter, known as Half-Man, Half-Amazing and also as Vinsanity announced his retirement from the game of basketball today. Carter played professional for twenty two years in the National Basketball Association. During Carter’s career he played across four different decades and some of the games all time greatest players. Prior to playing in the NBA, Carter starred in high school at Mainland High School in Daytona Beach where he became a McDonald’s All American. He played college ball at the University of North Carolina where he was an All American and led the team to consecutive appearances in the NCAA Final Four. Carter earned a degree in African-American Studies from UNC. During his NBA career he played with eight teams, most notably the Toronto Raptors where helped elevate and transcend the status of basketball in Canada.
