Director John Singleton and choreographer Fatima Robinson came together to create the magic for the video to the single “Remember The Time”off of Michael Jackson’s “Dangerous” album. This short film premiered February 2, 1992 on MTV, BET and Fox. The Fox premier came on right after an episode of Martin went off, captivating the television audience for an unmatched nine minutes. Staged to take place in Ancient Egypt, a Pharaoh (played by Eddie Murphy) is tasked with the mission of trying to entertain his bored queen (played by Iman). After several failed attempts, a mysterious candidate appears (which is Michael Jackson) and not only wins the right to entertain, but also take the Queen from his Pharaoh in the process.
Immaculate dancing and elaborate costumes cement this video as one of the most unique and exquisitely created music videos of all time.
