The world of fashion enables the entities of expression, intention, and uniqueness to be thrust to all that have vision. Designers and creators use the gift of vision and expression to create pieces that define everybody in uniquely individual ways. Clothes enable the wearer to say countless words without making a sound. Each garment of clothing presents a trait about the person wearing it that captivates the world, if even for a second. Designer Stephanie Wilbourn has created her own mark on the world of design and fashion with her exclusive designs for both men and women. Originally from Jackson, Tennessee, Wilbourn comes from a lineage of fashion matriarchs as her mother and siblings started Wilbourn’s Sewing and Alterations nearly fifty years ago. Wilbourn’s passion for fashion and design led to her continuing her education at Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama. While at Tuskegee she was able to attain more knowledge and skill that would enable her to help her family in birthing new design companies. 2006 saw Stephanie launching her first clothing brand, SexesByStephanie, a unisex clothing brand. SexesByStephanie enabled her to utilize her unique penchant for designing, skill with hair and her eye for art to create immaculate fashion pieces. Adam’s Apple Acsots were brought to the world in November of 2018. The Adam’s Apple Ascots are one of a kind handcrafted Brooch Tie Pins. Unique in design, these ascots combine the qualities of a bow tie, necktie, scarf, and an ascot, giving a distinct, commanding visual appeal.
Wilbourn’s Adam’s Apple Ascots have been featured across the country at many events and worn by celebrities and entertainers from all sectors. The inspiration behind each design is something that makes Adam’s Apple Ascots truly unique.
Wilbourn spoke with ESHE about her inspiration with each design “As a designer what inspires my creativity is the ability to be able to pick up the energy from each piece I create and turn it into a masterpiece and knowing that I have created something new and original to present to the universe.” The year 2020 will see more creative designs from SexesByStephanie as well as Adam’s Apple Ascots.
