August 17th marked the sixtieth anniversary of the release of the Miles Davis album “Kind Of Blue.” Considered to be one of the greatest jazz albums of all time, this masterpiece contained production and performances from some of the greatest jazz musicians of all time. Recorded in New York on March 2nd and April 22nd, 1959 the album featured collaborations with saxophonist John Coltrane and Julian “Cannonball” Adderley, pianist Bill Evans, bassist Paul Chambers, and drummer Jimmy Cobb, and new band pianist Wynton Kelly.
Timeless in production and timeless in sound, the art created by these musicians encompasses the essence of jazz music.
