As ESHE Magazine celebrates the 50th anniversary of the birth of Hip Hop, the words from those that made the history, lived the history and continue to spread the essence of Hip Hop will be shared with the world. Hip Hop pioneer Kurtis Blow talked to ESHE about his introduction to Hip Hop in the Bronx, New York and how different boroughs (such as Harlem) and people took the music and the genre of Hip Hop to the next level. Kurtis Blow was the first rapper to ever sign with a major record label and his song “The Breaks” was the first RIAA-Certified Gold rap song in the history of hip hop. Check out the interview below.
