Jason Pruitt Inducted Into The Colbert County Sports Hall of Fame

Jason Pruitt was inducted into the 2024 Colbert County Sports Hall of Fame.

Jason graduated from Colbert County High School in 1998 and was a star basketball and track athlete for the Indians. He earned two high jump State Championships in 1997 and 1998 and was a member of the 1997 3A State Basketball Championship Team. He was named All-County and All-Area during his high school career at CCHS.

Jason went on to play basketball at Calhoun State Community College, where in 2000 the Warhawks won the National Junior College Alabama State Championship and they were also the National Runner-Up in the National Tournament. He finished his collegiate career with a season at NCAA Division I Mississippi Valley State University and his final season at NCAA Division II Kentucky State University.

As a college coach, Pruitt has been a proven winner on the NCAA, NAIA and NCCAA levels, winning multiple championships and earning multiple coach of the year awards while leading his team to multiple Top 25 National Rankings. His teams have won two conference championships, two regional championships while also producing twenty-five all conference players, in addition to All-American players. Pruitt has been named the conference coach of the year five times.

Pruitt currently is the head coach of the Elmhurst University Blue Jays women’s basketball team.
