One Legacy Presents Ava’s Heart Awards Gala

Spread the love

By David Jordan Jr

One of the many beauties of life is the ability to give and to put others in a position to give in the future. Organ, eye and tissue donations across the globe have helped people from all walks of life, ethnicities, and backgrounds be able to have a longer and an essentially complete life on this earth. One Legacy, the largest Organ Procurement Organization in the United States of America hosted the “Ava’s Heart Awards Gala” at The Taglyan Complex in Los Angeles, California. The immaculate scenery and location of The Taglyan Complex provided the perfect backdrop for an evening personified with love and giving. The gala consisted of a silent auction, a dinner and an awards ceremony.

Many of the attendees were individuals that have been recipients of organ transplants, relatives of those whom may have received an organ transplant and those that foster the missions of both of the One Legacy and Ava’s Heart organizations. The word “gratitude” could be the adjective for the evening, as the recipients of transplants and the various members of the different organizations expressed extreme gratitude in being able to play an important role in the continuance of life.

Ava’s heart was founded by heart transplant recipient, Ava Kaufman after she was afforded the opportunity for a second chance of life with the transplant. Ava’s Heart provides financial assistance for organ transplant recipients, while also providing emotional and psychological support to those recipients.  The gala was hosted by Ava Kaufman and Will LoCurto.
