Charles F. Porter Talks About His Life Journey, Black Bench Productions And His New Film “Finding Faith”

As one lives life, the subtle intricacies of living, love, and faith will present themselves to an individual at various times as an orchestrator for navigating life and fulfilling one’s purpose. A person who understands that each of those intricacies is an essential element to staying afloat in life will not only grow to become more than they could ever imagine, but they will also provide a light of inspiration for all of the people with whom they come in contact. Actor and producer Charles F. Porter is a man who has embodied the elements of faith, purpose, and love to impact the world through his creative passion.

Born in Oxford, England, Porter’s life journey has encompassed the highest of highs and presumably the lowest of lows, due to unforeseen and uncontrollable circumstances. Moving to the United States of America with his parents as a young child, Porter would grow up as a child who would excel academically and athletically, eventually becoming a Division I football player at Duke University. Encountering injuries during his collegiate career, Porter called the play to begin his career in entertainment upon completion of his college football career and college graduation(he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology), as he would move cross-country to Los Angeles, California. Entering the entertainment industry, Porter would carve out his path by acting in various television shows and movies, in addition to embarking on a career in fashion and modeling.

Porter’s journey, escalating and building promise, would reach an unforeseen halt as he was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2010. The resilience inside of Porter, his faith in God, and the ultimate support circle of family and true friends enabled him to defeat cancer not only one time, but three additional times as he would relapse and be forced to battle again. The journey of Charles F. Porter is one that has allowed him to be a beacon of knowledge and wisdom as to how one should live and approach life when faced with unforeseen circumstances. Sharing his journey and faith has led Porter to author three books and launch his line of merchandise, “Brainwashed For Greatness” an ode to the reaffirmation of believing in the impact of positivity. His recently released film “Finding Faith” starring Paula Patton,  Loretta Devine, Stephen Bishop, Demetrius Grosse, Keith David, and Nadine Velazquez and was written and directed by LazRael Lison shows the faith journey of Faith Mitchell (played by Paula Patton) as she essentially loses the priceless things in life (family and love) to have them restored by her faith and commitment to God in all areas of her life.

Porter recently spoke with ESHE about his life journey, Black Bench Productions, and his latest film, “Finding Faith.”
