A Collector’s Dream

By David Jordan Jr

For young kids and grown adults, the appeal of being part of their favorite sports team, athlete, television show, or favorite celebrity’s fan base is a deep, unique connection. For enthusiasts of a particular person, show, or team, obtaining and collecting memorabilia and collectibles related to them provides a sense of closeness and relatability. Sports card and memorabilia trading shows have long provided collectors with an opportunity to trade, sell, and purchase exclusive memorabilia. Rare rookie cards, vintage jerseys, autographed albums, and obscure memorabilia make each trading show in the world exclusively unique. Jackson, Tennessee native Clint Lindsey (Lindsey Promotions) hosts the Jackson Sports Cards & Collectibles in various locations across the United States to quench the thirst of avid collectors.

Recently, the show took place in Union City, Tennessee, at the Discover Park of America museum. Special guests for the event included singing sensation Tonya Mitchell, television producer, actor, and writer Ilunga Adell, and former Negro League Baseball player of the Indianapolis Clowns, Reginald Howard. Clint Lindsey talked to ESHE about his trade shows, the trading card industry, and how the hobby for collectors has changed over the years.
